New Mexico Bowl Hosts NCAA Football Clinic at UNM Free camp for 200 area youths, ages 6 to 14, July 29 from 9-11 a.m.
On Thursday, July 29, youth football players from Albuquerque and the surrounding areas are invited to attend a free half-day clinic led by coaches and student-athletes from the University of New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico at UNM's Indoor Practice Facility on the south campus. The clinic is hosted by the New Mexico Bowl in partnership with NCAA Football's Youth Initiative for the third straight year.

The clinic, one of 22 being held nationwide over the summer, will give participants the opportunity to meet and work with college coaches and student-athletes to complete on-field agility drills and offensive and defensive training. Additionally, Coach Mike Locksley from the New Mexico Lobos will speak to the youth football players about character development and good sportsmanship, and how these skills can be used to succeed off the field and in the classroom.
Registration will be open to the first 200 youth attendees ages 6 to 14. Those who are interested in attending the clinic or would like additional information can register here or call (505) 925-5999.
NCAA Football's Youth Initiative is a $1.5 million, three-year investment that began in New Orleans in 2007. Through this program, NCAA Football strives to attract more youth participants to the game, provide them with additional motivation to pursue higher education opportunities.
